چکیده

Interbody cages are commonly used to augment interbody fusion. Commonly materials include titanium (Ti) and polyetheretherketone (PEEK), with their inherent differences. The aim of this study is perform a systematic review meta-analysis compare between the various clinical radiological outcomes Ti PEEK spinal cages. A comparing in patients undergoing fusion was performed. PubMed, Scopus, Web Science, Embase, Cochrane Central Register Controlled Trials database were searched. All studies that compared who underwent included. Subgroup analyses performed differentiate had cervical lumbar total 11 articles identified, 743 patients. Spinal rates at final follow-up did not differ (OR 1.50, 95% CI 0.57–3.94, P = 0.41), although fusion, demonstrated superior 2.12, 1.05–4.28, 0.04). In non-infective etiologies, higher rate cage subsidence (RR 2.17, 1.13–4.16, 0.02). Both types similar operating time, postoperative hematoma formation, neuropathic pain, segmental angle correction outcome improvement. spine conditions, may be option due rate. III.

Clinical outcomes of two types of cages used in transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion for the treatment of degenerative lumbar diseases: n-HA/PA66 cages versus PEEK cages

This study reports the clinical effects of nano-hydroxyapatite/polyamide66 cages (n-HA/PA66 cages) and compares the clinical outcomes between n-HA/PA66 and polyetheretherketone cages (PEEK cages) for application in transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion (TLIF). A retrospective and case-control study involving 124 patients using n-HA/PA66 cages and 142 patients using PEEK cages was conducted. Al...

Morphological analysis of interbody fusion following posterior lumbar interbody fusion with cages using computed tomography

Posterior lumbar interbody fusion (PLIF) using cages in conjunction with pedicle screw fixation is considered the gold standard for surgical treatment of degenerative lumbar spine disorders due to its biomechanical stability and high fusion rate. However, research regarding patterns of fusion in the interbody space during the early postoperative period is lacking.Sixty consecutive patients were...

Vertebral Endplate Cyst as a Predictor of Nonunion After Lumbar Interbody Fusion: Comparison of Titanium and Polyetheretherketone Cages.

STUDY DESIGN The bone union rate after lumbar interbody fusion (LIF) using titanium (Ti) or polyetheretherketone (PEEK) cages was investigated retrospectively. OBJECTIVE To assess whether the PEEK cage is superior to the Ti cage in terms of bone union after LIF. SUMMARY OF BACKGROUND DATA We previously reported that the formation of vertebral endplate cysts is useful for predicting nonunion...

Threaded fusion cages for lumbar interbody fusions. An economic comparison with 360 degrees fusions.

STUDY DESIGN This study compared the surgical and hospitalization costs, operating times, and blood loss attributable to lumbar interbody fusions at one and two lumbar levels by the use of two device systems: 1) the Ray Threaded Fusion Cage, and 2) an anteroposterior interbody technique with pedicle screw and rod stabilization (360 degrees fusion). The clinical efficacy and complication rate of...
